I'm back!:-)

Apologies for running late with the Slow Blog linky!

We arrived back from our summer hols on Monday, school started again on Wednesday, and I am only just catching up.  I have one piece of creativity to report.  Terrible picture but you get the idea.  If you are having deja vus this is indeed another robot quilt for one of my nephews who was very envious of the one I made his brother.  As a loving auntie I obviously had to oblige.

The rest of the summer has gone by in a flash.  I spent a special birthday in the highlands with my beloved and had this view from my window

and views like this outdoors:

We climbed Arthur's Seat for a view of Holyrood House and the Firth of Forth,

and spent a week in this - first camping trip with children, and a great success largely due to fantastic weather and to camping next door to my in-laws, including my brother-in-law the professional chef!

Back to reality with a bump now.  What about you?    If you are a Slow Blogger feel free to link up a post of creativity or other distractions!

  3. We had our first "camping" trip with children this year. It was all good, we went hiking and cooked over a fire, had visits from wild animals... but the weather was very cold, and we only have one sleeping bag and I forgot to bring our doonas, so we made it until about 10pm before we decided to go to a motel room (with a nice warm shower and comfy bed :D) and returned to camp early the next morning to cook our breakfast. Does that still count as camping?

  6. Ohh looks like you had a great time away ... haha is it really camping if there is a decent shower in walking distance? if you don't have to dig drainge canals to let the water flow aroudn your tent? if you don't have to get out the extra "ankers" and storm lines for the tent? if there are no ice flowers on your sleeping bag in the morning? And is it really camping if you don't eat canned Ravioli or have to decide between cold pasta with hot sauce or cold sauce with hot pasta - but get to eat the chef's special?

  10. happy special birthday, 21? Your tent looks very space age - I am sure the children had a great time. I can't believe they are back to school already. We were in Glasgow for the Games and had a great time, no camping involved though for us.
